ITINERARY ACTIVITY
Day 1: Accra, Ghana
Upon arrival at Kotoka Int. Airport, Accra, go through immigration, claim your luggage and go through customs. When you exit you will meet your Tour guide. Akwaaba!!! Welcome to Accra!! An air- conditioned bus will take you to your hotel.
After check-in your Guide will give you some briefing on your stay in Ghana. After the briefing Guide will continue with you to Oxford Street Osu to buy African prints (for those who want the services of a Tailor), or you have the option of relaxing in the Hotel.

Day 2: Tour of Accra

Welcome to the bustling city of Accra. After breakfast we head off to Jamestown to see some sites from the colonial days like the Light House, Brazil House then we move on to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Center built in Memory of the 1st President of Ghana. From there we visit the Arts Center where you can buy different types of artworks created by local artists. We move on to the Independence Square where Dr. Kwame Nkrumah lit the flame of African Liberation in 1961 when Ghana got Independence. After that we move to the Black Stars Square to take pictures. After a lunch break we will visit the W.E.B. Dubois Center to see the life and work of the renowned Pan-Africanist who lived in Ghana.
We enjoy live band at the famous 233 tonight.

Day 3: Naming Ceremony

After breakfast we drive to a private home where we perform a Naming Ceremony. You will receive your African name today. After that there will be a cooking class for the group. There will also be a variety of African drink for tasting. Lunch will be served. The afternoon will be free as we have a hectic day tomorrow.

Days 4 & 5: Assin Manso, Cape Coast and Elmina

Today we travel to Cape Coast making a stop at Assin Manso to see the slave river site where the captured Africans took their last bath before they were sent to the long journey to the West. Assin Manso is also the burial site of the two slaves who’s remains were returned from the U.S. and Jamaica during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day in August 1988.
We have lunch when we arrive in Cape Coast then go straight to visit Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A major departure site for slaves. The “Door of NO Return” and the dungeons in this Castle tell the whole story.

Next Morning We start with breakfast then Go to visit Elmina Castle another World UNESCO Heritage site and a departure point for the Slave Trade. Right outside the castle we can go see the colorful fishing boats.
We go to Kakum National Park to take a walk on the forest floor to see different species of birds, mammals, butterflies and also to take a walk on the 1000ft canopy walk with platforms that reach over 150ft above the ground. We return to Accra.

Day 6: Akosombo – Somanya

We leave very early for Akosombo. We arrive and drive over Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku. The Adomi Bridge is a lattice steel Arch suspension bridge opened in 1957 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It provides the main road passage between the Eastern and Volta Region.
Then we proceed to Bridgeview Hotel for breakfast and pictures with the bridge as a backdrop.
Then we proceed to Royal Senchi for a boat ride on the Volta River to see the Adomi bridge, once again. We go to Somanya to visit a glass bead making factory.
We head back to Accra

Day 7: Aburi
Highlights:
- Aburi Botanical Gardens
- Labadi Beach/LA Pleasure Beach
After breakfast we travel to Aburi to visit the Botanical Gardens.
Occupying an area of 68.4 hectares. It was opened in 1890. Aburi Botanical Gardens boasts of various tree species. Aburi Hardens has become a haven for both local and foreign tourism.
We have lunch and then return to Accra for a free afternoon.
You can choose to return to the hotel to chill, to go to La Pleasure Beach or go shopping on Oxford Street. Receive all your clothing back from Tailor.

Day 8: Chill and Departure Day
Breakfast… A day to chill and do last minute shopping. Departure to the airport at 6 pm.
